The State of Ohio “Boiler Operator Stationary Steam Engineer Licensing Program” Recognized and Certified GCAP’s Boiler Program The State of Ohio, Department of Commerce and Division of Industrial Compliance administers examinations for individuals wishing to obtain a Low Pressure Boiler Operator, High Pressure Boiler Operator, or Stationary Steam Engineer license.
In Ohio, to operate a boiler powered at more than 30 horsepower requires a boiler operator license from the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Industrial Compliance. Two types of operator licenses are available: “Low Pressure” and “High Pressure.” In both cases, a license candidate must obtain training and work experience in the area of license, submit an application and pass a licensing exam with a score of 70 percent or better.
We are excited about the upcoming years where OSHA will request to follow OHIO’s program in all of the other 49 states. With GCAP being the first Hands-On Technical School recognized to teach and test at our facility in the state of Kansas. It is a benchmark of success for us here at the school.
